简介: 1990年7月21日，离开Pink Floyd多年的Roger Waters在德国柏林墙旧址波兹坦发起举行了一场名为“Wall-Berlin 1990”的大型露天音乐会，现场观众达25万人，记者超过3000名，数百万的观众观看了电视的现场直播。这场音乐会由欧共体和英国“克里斯蒂”赈灾慈善基金会赞助，中心节目就是《墙》这部巨作。
在The Bleeding Hearts、Scorpions、Bryan Adams、Sinead O'Connor、Van Morrison、Joni Mitchell、Thomas Dolby等歌星和乐队的助阵下，Waters 将《墙》变成了两幕超现实风格的音乐歌剧，舞台现场搭起一堵82米长，18米高的模拟巨墙。随着音乐故事的推进，不断加入救护车，军乐队等真实道具，而模拟墙也变为一个巨大的投影屏幕，幻灯片中拟人化的铁锤军列式的行进和死亡十字架群、影片《墙》中扭曲的动画形象的画面一再出现，无疑对《墙》这部作品起到了最生动的补充和说明。整个音乐剧不时贯穿着Roger独特的歌唱，那种悲凉和冷漠的方式令人难以忘怀。
演出结束前，灯光一下大亮，模拟墙在全场观众的起声呐喊下被轰然推倒，场面壮观之极，所有的歌星在和平的气氛里合唱终曲。Waters希望用摇滚乐来摧毁压在人们心中的那种无形的墙，就象摧毁有形的墙一样，就如同《墙》这部作品所希望那样——推倒所有将人类间隔阂的墙。
