World-renowned pianist Martha Argerich appears with the Flanders Symphony Orchestra for this dynamic concert performance. The Argentine-born master plays riveting interpretations of Symphony No. 1 and Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, No. 1; Robert Schumann's Sonata for Piano and Violin, No. 1; and Beethoven's Concerto for Piano, Violin, Cello, and Orchestra.
Recorded live at the 25th La Roque d'Antheron International Piano Festival in 2005, this DVD pays tribute to a consummate artist. Known for promoting talented musicians, Argerich invited two young French string-players to join her on the stage: Both Renaud and Gautier Capucon (violin and violoncello respectively) are at the beginning of promising international solo careers. They end this scintillating recital with a triumphant performance of Beethoven's Triple Concerto.
